18 weeks along

I don't love these pics, but I want to document my crazy changing body and I'm sure a lot of you want to see it too, so enjoy! :)

How far along: 18 weeks. According to my app, our baby is now the length of a large bell pepper and weighs 81/2 oz (250g). Baby's brain is starting to develop rapidly!
Total weight gain: Last doc appointment (at 14 weeks) I was up 4.5 pounds, but I'm sure I've gained a bunch more. I'll update after my 18 week doc appointment next week.
Maternity clothes: Pants for sure...cannot fit into any of my old ones. So it's maternity jeans, stretch pants, and stretchy skirts everyday. Shirts still fitting fine.
Stretch marks: Nope! Hoping it stays that way...
Sleep: Not great, mostly disturbed by crazy vivid dreams and having to get up to pee
Best moment of this week: Spending Mother's Day with my mom and grandma and finding a surprise Mother's Day card from Matt :) He's the best!
Miss anything: Grabbing anything out of the closet and having it fit! Missing morning tea and occasional glass of wine, but so worth giving that up :)
Movement: None yet. Hoping to feel it in the next couple weeks!
Food cravings: Not craving fruit and sweets like I was during the 1st trimester, but still have more of a sweet tooth than before I was pregnant.
Anything making you queasy or sick: nope!
Have you started to show yet: Yes!
Boy or Girl: We have our 20 week anatomy scan is a couple weeks, but Matt still doesn't want to know the sex so it's going to be a surprise,  for now ;)

Baby gear: We haven't boughten anything for baby yet, but have received some sweet gifts. We have swaddle cloths and a cuddle blanket, white noise machine and tiny hand-knit sweater that my dad wore as a baby!
Labor signs: No way!
Belly button in or out: Already on its way out haha
Wedding rings on or off: On and I hope it stays that way
Happy or moody most of the time: Pretty happy! Moments of irritability but not bad at all
Looking forward to: Doc appointment on Tuesday... excited to hear the heartbeat again and see how much I've gained. Parents coming into town for Memorial Day weekend and Mumford and Sons concert!

I'm BACK! and pregnant!

Well, let's be honest, I'm back because I'm pregnant. And I want to document this amazing experience in our lives, not to mention all the people who want to see my growing belly. So here it goes!

Two blue lines = pregnant
(notice photobomber Allie)
We had been trying to get pregnant for only about 4 months when I noticed my sense of smell was driving me crazy! I could smell everything and it all smelled so strongly! I took a test on a Sunday morning in January, but it was faulty... no blue lines. I took another one the next Tuesday morning after Matt had left for work and it was positive. I starting crying and think I told Allie first :) Then I called Matt and told him the good news!! I had to go to work and it was soooo hard not to tell everyone what had just happened that morning! But we had agreed to keep it a secret until we were further along and were past the riskiest weeks.

We told my parents when we saw them the next weekend... they are soooo excited for their first grandbaby. Then I told my sister and a few close girlfriends here in Portland, but after that it was our little secret until week 12 when we heard a strong heartbeat and decided to spill the news to everyone. We got to tell Matt's family in person when we were down for Easter, which was really special. Everyone is so happy and excited for a new baby!
